WITHOUT DOUBT MAGNIFICO !!.
RNE 3 ATMOSPHERA, RADIO NATIONALE DE ESPANA
As Gagarin he makes experimental soundscapes, glitch and ambient. By not adhering to the rituals of any specific scene, electronica in its rawest form results.

MOJO
This is as icy and aloof an album as these ears has heard in a long time.
IS THIS MUSIC
Deeply beautiful glitchy ambient electroncia at its very best. Third Rail is as good a track as I have heard all year. The album moves through tracks where layers upon layers of glitch are coupled with sparse keyboards, creating an LP that breather freely. The album is bordering on the perfect headphone listen stunning stuff.
BEN MYNOTT - MUSICWEEK
His new album melds pretty much every dance and electronica trend currently worth bothering with into something wholly unique, challenging and seductive. On Biophila, he seems to be joining the likes of James Blake and Darkstar in taking dubstep as far as possible from its urban paranoiac roots. Purists might gripe but it's hard - almost impossible - to argue with music as stunningly gorgeous as 'Last Child in the Woods' or 'Galathus', both of which recall Brian Eno or Autechre at their most ambient. Put simply, this is beautiful music, no matter what electronic niche you swear allegiance to.
SOUNDBLAB UK
The sounds on Gagarins latest album are sinister and bleak. Like a dying circuit board, or a broken instrument panel in an abandoned nuclear power plant, the analog synths scream in angst against a backdrop of sparse percussion. Waves oscillate in abstract textures, bouncing in angular patterns where they are met with solid walls. Rhythm condenses and disperses into an array of mercury-like elements, swallowing individual bits and beats in its path. Yet, within this seemingly cold and alien atmosphere there is a sign of hope, like a voice creeping through the radio static in search of the receiver on the other side. Perhaps someone out there is listening
Gagarin is inspired by landscapes, complex environments, and urban noisescapes. And this continues his obsessive exploration of the interface between pastoral and urban environments and sound worlds. The music thrives in the context of the track titles, like Pripyat, which is named after a ghost town near Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, left to be taken over by nature after the unfortunate accident. The 80?s sounding patch-bay tones have that modular characteristic that brings back the listener to the futuristic past. Connoisseurs of early electronic music pioneers, like Stockhausen, Morton Subotnick and the darker side of Brian Eno, will appreciate the sounds of disquiet.

His current solo work approximates some of the eeriest sounds of dubstep, but it's a very personal take: these two tracks (both named in connection to his namesake, Yuri Gagarin) are contemplative, abstracted, maybe even programmatic. There is a feeling of a drama unfolding at its own pace in their dark geometries, something to be unpicked on the repeat listenings which it definitely deserves. (JM)
ARTSDESK
Ultra Deep bass, nested snarebeats, crackle and noise. The cosmos begins on the dancefloor.
JUNGES WELT
Retrofuturist without getting kitsch, and some good glitch techno no matter the occasssion.
